The Briarcliff Manor Police Department announced over the weekend that they have arrested an 18-year-old who was 16 at the time of the blaze, following an investigation by detectives that lasted more than two years.

On Facebook, the department praised the efforts of Det. Sgt. Matthew Doherty, Det. Fred Galbraith of the Briarcliff Manor Police Department Detective Division and mutual aide companies, the Westchester County Cause and Origin Team, the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office and the Briarcliff Manor Dept of Public Works in connection with the investigation.

The teen, whose name has not been released by police due to his age, has been charged with fourth-degree arson. Police said that no others are expected to face charges in connection to the burning of the pavilion on Dec. 12, 2015. The teenager is due back in court later this year to answer the charge.
